“I’m sharing my story to encourage others to keep going even when it seems difficult or hopeless.

“I was diagnosed with a rare muscle disease called myasthenia gravis and later, with stage 3 colon cancer. Hearing from others who have been through similar experiences can help dissipate the feeling of loneliness and uncertainty. It made a huge difference in how I went through my treatment mentally and physically.

“I happened to listen to a story of a young lady around my age who had a rare type of cancer. I was thankful to hear her share her journey with her diagnosis and survivorship. I was inspired to continue searching for other stories.”

“I want to help people fight the fight!

“I was diagnosed with late fourth stage metastatic bladder cancer. I was feeling great and asymptomatic. My third oncologist…convinced me to fight. My diagnosis was 8½ years ago...”

“I want to instill in others to never give up. Give people hope because there is hope. And hope is a beautiful thing.”

“I feel like when I share my story, I am helping others in their journey.

“This disease is so little known [myelodysplastic syndromes or MDS], even in the medical field. It took over 5 years for me to be diagnosed and that was by accident.”

“I had been told for years at my annual physical that I was anemic. Just take some iron and I would be fine. By the time I got to a hematologist my iron level was exceptionally high. I feel like when sharing my story I am helping others in their journey. All of my interactions with BMS have inspired me and given me hope to live a complete and active life.”

“Sharing my story is meaningful to me and empowers others.

“When I received my diagnosis [of Crohn’s disease], I had a multitude of questions that went unanswered because I lacked immediate access to stories like my own. This highlights the importance of patient storytelling, which showcases the unique differences and similarities in each journey.

“My treatment journey has been a long road—with repeated hospitalizations over a span of a decade. Through [Share to Inspire], I hope to continue fostering an environment where patient voices are amplified.”
